What Nihao does

V1 does one thing: get nearby pet owners to actually meet. Here's everything built for that.

Discover & match

The app opens on Discover: neighbours out walking, nearby activities and nearby pets, all on one screen.

  • People nearby are sorted by distance, rounded to 0.1 miles — and anything under 0.3 miles simply reads "within 0.3 mi".
  • Swipe pet cards to like or skip. A skip does not come back.
  • A mutual like is a match, and a match opens a chat — there is no separate friend request.
  • Twelve likes a day. The cap is deliberate: we are not building something you swipe until midnight.
  • Filter by species, size and distance — or switch yourself out of other people's Discover entirely.

Activities

Turns "we should walk together sometime" into a specific thing: one place, one time, a few people bringing their pets.

  • Instant: "anyone walking right now?" — it appears in the Discover feed of people nearby.
  • Scheduled: pick Sunday at 3pm and the dog park, and everyone who joined gets a reminder before it starts.
  • Places come from a list of public ones — parks, campuses, plazas. You cannot enter a home address or invent a location only you can find.
  • Set a cap and joining closes automatically when it fills; if somebody leaves, it reopens.
  • Every activity has a group chat from the moment it is created, so "I'm here" has somewhere to go.

Walks

From the moment you press start to the summary at the end, you decide how much of it anyone else can see.

  • While a walk is running, nearby walkers can see you — only while sharing is on.
  • Location updates only while the app is in the foreground. We do not track you in the background.
  • Turn sharing off at any point. The walk keeps going; you simply stop being visible.
  • When the walk ends — or after four hours, whichever comes first — that temporary location is erased.
  • Then you get a summary: distance, duration, which walk number this was, and one tap to post it.

Feed & messages

A pet feed ordered by time, and a message list with nothing in it but people.

  • Posts are strictly reverse-chronological. No ranking model, no "suggested for you", no ads in the stream.
  • Post with photos, or generate one from a walk summary in a tap.
  • Each post is either public or visible only to you.
  • Messages holds three things: new matches, direct chats and activity groups.
  • Photos and read receipts are supported. Reporting or blocking anyone takes two taps.

Two taps when something feels off

Meeting offline is the whole point of this app, which means dealing with a bad situation has to be easier than arranging a good one.

  • Block

    Neither of you can see the other's profile, posts or activities, and neither can send a message. No reason required.

  • Report

    Posts, people, activities and places can all be reported. Reports go into a queue a human reads — nothing here is automated.

  • Delete your own content

    Your posts, comments and pet profiles can be deleted at any time, and they leave everyone else's timeline too.

  • Leave an activity

    Leave whenever you like. Your spot goes to the next person and you leave the group chat with it.

  • Deactivate or delete

    Under Me → Account in the app. Deleting clears your nickname, bio and location immediately and erases everything after 30 days; within those 30 days you can still come back.
